Today, 06th April 2026 is Super Structures Associates Limited (SSA) 15th Birthday. I founded SSA on 06th April 2011, in my summer house at the end of my garden in Twickenham. I chose the date of the 06th April as a tribute to my heritage of growing up in South Africa, as it is also South Africa’s birthday. South Africa was ‘born’ on 06th April 1652, when Jan van Riebeeck sailed into Table Bay, to found the Dutch East India Company’s settlement in South Africa, to provide fresh produce to the sailors that rounded the tip of Africa on their journeys to the Far East.
While SSA cannot match South Africa for longevity, it has had its fair share of trials and tribulations over the 15 years that it has been in existence. As most small business owners can attest to, running a small business is not easy, as there always seems to be something new to learn, or new challenges to adapt to, to keep the business on track and successful. SSA is fortunate that we have still have some of our original and early clients that still work with us, and that is why building strong client relations pays off over time. SSA has completed several thousand projects over the 15 years, with a very wide variety of projects. This keeps things interesting and improves our experience with different types of projects and innovative solutions.
So, a very big thank you to all the SSA staff, past and present, as well as all of our wonderful clients that have trusted us with their projects over the years. We look forward to the years that lie ahead for SSA and to solving some interesting and challenging projects for our clients.
